Live Music
I truly have the best seat in the house… at least for three songs anyway!
A regular contributor to magazines and website in the music industry including ‘themusic’. Concerts, Festivals and events; I have shot hundreds of artists and bands performing over the years including The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Black Keys, Coldplay, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Incubus, Gary Clark Jnr, Mumford & Sons, Florence & The Machine, Kanye West, Cold Chisel, Sound Garden and so so many more. I have shot pretty much every festival, Big Day Out, Splendour In The Grass, Bluesfest, and Summafieldayze and amazing events like BIGSOUND, Valley Jazz Festival and The Qld Music Awards. Check out my portfolio of work to see how they look through the lens.
Band and Artist Press Photography
One of the most rewarding experiences is seeing your photography up on posters, websites, album artwork and, the ultimate, magazine covers. I enjoy spending time with artists and bands to capture creative images that sell the brand. On location and studio shoots are huge fun, creative and possibly addictive. Rarely longer than two hours and not as expensive as you might think, a single session should give you enough collateral for quite some time. There are some amazing artists in the portfolio – have a look for yourself.
Industry Events
As mentioned earlier, I bring experience from events such as BIGSOUND, Valley Jazz Festival and The Qld Music Awards to every assignment. In 2013 I will be the BIGSOUND photography coordinator for hosts Qmusic – evidence of the faith from one of my best clients and an exciting opportunity. I am available to shoot single and multi format events and have quick turn-around times to meet media and client commitments. There is no event too big or too small.
Architectural Photography
In addition to being a professional photographer, I am also a practicing Architect. If you want to find out more, check out 77 Architecture at 77group.com.au
It is this experience, as an Architect, that allows a certain understanding of how the built environment can and should be photographed. Architectural Photography extends to external and contextual, interior, structures, landscape and even product photography subjects. I try to capture both the character of these subjects and their story. Perhaps it is about their context within the environment, their inhabitants, cultural, religious and heritage significance or just capturing in honesty.
I have captured many building types over the years; private residences, commercial buildings, retail centres and heritage structures. Each has it’s own story and is captured in its best light.
Headshots & Portraits
I offer a distinct headshot style that is based on flattering light and natural expression to capture your natural character. In a 30 minute session, many of my clients go from uncomfortable in front of a camera to having a good time and enjoying the process. I offer coaching to bring out the best possible expressions that capture your character and personality. Photos are used for marketing collateral, websites and and social media profiles including Linkedin. Make sure you check out the portfolio page for examples.
